Living in Vancouver
Next Training Session Starts May 01, 2017
Vancouver is the North American capitol for visual effects and boasts the largest animation studio on the continent. It’s a great place to live while studying animation and visual effects. With mild, but wet winters, warm summers and a spectacular landscape, there is much to do and explore while going to school. International students coming to our school often ask about the cost of living. Here are some useful numbers:
- HOUSING Depending on whether you choose a home-stay with a family, a shared apartment or a private apartment, your rent can range from $500 to $1500 per month.
- FOOD Depending on how much you eat and whether you prepare your own food or eat at restaurants all the time, your food bill will probably range from $200 to $500 per month.
- TRANSPORTATION/ENTERTAINMENT: We recommend you budget $200 – $300 per month
Using these numbers, your total budget for one year can range from $10,800 to $27,600.Most people say to budget an average of $1,000 to $1,200 per month for living expenses. With a tuition of $32,500 and factoring in early sign-up discounts, your total budget for school education and accommodation can range from roughly $40,000 – $65,000. In order to acquire a student visa, candidates will need to show Immigration Canada that they have these funds available before they will be permitted to enter the country.
These numbers are estimates only. If you have any questions regarding these numbers or anything else about our school, please contact us at email@example.com.
