Vancouver is the North American capital for visual effects and boasts the largest animation studio on the continent. It’s a great city in which to study, with mild (but wet) winters, warm summers and a spectacular landscape. There are lots of things to do and places to explore while going to school. International students coming to CG Masters often ask about the cost of living. The following numbers are estimates only. If you have any specific questions regarding your budget, please contact us at info@cg-masters.com.

HOUSING Depending on whether you choose a home-stay with a family, a shared apartment or a private apartment, your rent can range from $500 to $1500 per month.

FOOD Depending on whether you prepare your own food or plan on eating out often, your food bill will probably range from $200 to $500 per month.

TRANSPORTATION/ENTERTAINMENT: We recommend you budget $200 – $300 per month
Using these numbers, your total budget for one year can range from $10,800 to $27,600.Most people say to budget an average of $1,000 to $1,200 per month for living expenses. With a tuition of $32,500 and factoring in early sign-up discounts, your total budget for school education and accommodation can range from roughly $40,000 – $65,000. In order to acquire a student visa, candidates will need to show Immigration Canada that they have these funds available before they will be permitted to enter the country.

CG Masters is located in New Westminster, in the Greater Vancouver Regional District, and is 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver by rail. The school is conveniently located with access directly on the train platform. Please visit the Tourism New Westminster website for more information.
